Natalie joined us in November 2006. She has always dreamt of running a business of her own and had been looking for a suitable business opportunity for some time.
When she found the Silverdaze website she wasted no time in contacting us and we introduced her to some of the other Silverdazers. After attending a Silverdaze jewellery event in Reigate, Natalie made the decision to join us the same day.
In September 2007 Natalie left her role in the international arm of a major UK bank to develop a portfolio career. This has allowed her to build her Silverdaze jewellery business alongside other activities whilst still having some time for friends and family.
"The great thing about this business is that you can spend as much or as little time as suits you but what you put in reflects what you get out. Parties are the lifeblood of the business and a good party is great fun and doesn't feel like work at all. We are bringing the shop to the customer which is fantastic - when else do women get the opportunity to try on different pieces and styles of jewellery with a glass of wine in hand?
I find small local events are best for generating sales and parties, people like the fact that you are local and I have regular customers who come to the same event each year to treat themselves to some new jewellery. Its really rewarding when someone comes up to me and says they're delighted with their jewellery - "I love it!" is a phrase I hear quite often.
I am also keen to support charities through my business and regularly donate prizes to local charity events which is also a great way of promoting the jewellery. Last year, I held a Macmillan Coffee Morning and donated a % of sales to that wonderful cause.
Silverdaze is a great range of jewellery with many unique pieces, and importantly, appealing to a wide range of styles - everyone from pre-teens to great-grandmothers is a potential customer. The fact that the products are a bit special was illustrated when I met a lovely lady at a Christmas event in 2007. She admired a particular gemstone ring but I didn't have it in her size and she wanted something she could have straight away. However, six months later we met again and she still hadn't found anything suitable so I offered to source the original ring in her size which I did and she was absolutely delighted with it - and then her friend saw it and asked me to get one for her as well.
The appeal of the Silverdaze brand extends beyond the UK - one of my loyal customers is traveling in Africa and has had lots of favorable comments from the local ladies - so much so that she has asked if I can take some jewellery over and they will organize a party!"
